How to Prepare for a Job Interview with AI

Nail your next interview with AI-powered practice, research, and preparation that covers every angle.

Interviews Are Scary. Preparation Fixes That.

The anxiety before a job interview is almost always about uncertainty. What will they ask? What should I say? What if I blank out? AI tools help you prepare so thoroughly that confidence replaces fear.

Research the Company

Use the Fetch server to have Claude read the company's website, recent news, and blog posts. Then ask:

  • "What does this company value most based on their About page?"
  • "What recent news should I mention in the interview?"
  • "Who are their competitors and how are they different?"

Use Brave Search to dig deeper — recent press releases, employee reviews on Glassdoor, and industry trends.

Walking into an interview with real knowledge about the company sets you apart from everyone who just read the job description.

Predict the Questions

Tell Claude the job title and description, and ask for the 15 most likely interview questions. These typically include:

  • "Tell me about yourself"
  • "Why do you want to work here?"
  • "What's your greatest weakness?"
  • "Tell me about a time you handled a difficult situation"
  • Industry-specific questions

Claude generates questions tailored to your specific role and industry — not generic lists from the internet.

Practice Your Answers

For each question, tell Claude your honest response. It will help you:

  • Structure your answer using frameworks like STAR (Situation, Task, Action, Result)
  • Remove filler words and vague statements
  • Add specific examples and numbers
  • Keep answers concise (1-2 minutes, not 10)

Then practice saying them out loud. Reading and speaking are different skills.

🤵🏻‍♂️ Gent's Tip: Find this tool on a-gnt.com — just search by name and tap Get.

Prepare Your Questions

Every interviewer asks "do you have any questions for me?" Having nothing to ask signals disinterest. Ask Claude to generate smart questions based on the role:

  • "What does success look like in the first 90 days?"
  • "How would you describe the team culture?"
  • "What's the biggest challenge facing this team right now?"

These show genuine interest and strategic thinking.

Mock Interview

Ask Claude to conduct a mock interview. It'll ask questions, you answer, and it gives feedback on:

  • Clarity and conciseness
  • Use of specific examples
  • Confidence and tone
  • Areas where you're vague or rambling

The Sequential Thinking server helps Claude evaluate your answers systematically, catching gaps you might miss.

Handle the Logistics

Use Todoist to create a pre-interview checklist:

  • Research the company
  • Practice answers
  • Choose your outfit
  • Print copies of your resume
  • Plan your route (arrive 10-15 minutes early)
  • Prepare a portfolio or work samples if relevant
  • Charge your phone (in case you need GPS)
  • Eat something before you go

Salary Negotiation Prep

If things go well, you'll need to discuss salary. Ask Claude:

  • "What's the typical salary range for a [role] in [city]?"
  • "How do I respond when they ask my salary expectations?"
  • "Help me practice negotiating a higher offer"

Use Brave Search to check current salary data on sites like Glassdoor and Payscale.

After the Interview

Send a thank-you email within 24 hours. Ask Claude to write one that:

  • Thanks the interviewer by name
  • References something specific from your conversation
  • Reaffirms your interest in the role
  • Is professional but warm

Use the Google Sheets server to track all your applications, interview dates, follow-ups, and outcomes.

You've Got This

Interview preparation is the one thing you can fully control. The more prepared you are, the more natural you'll feel. AI tools make preparation faster and more thorough — so you can walk in knowing you've done the work.

Take a breath. You're more qualified than you think.
