You published the page yesterday. Has Bing crawled it yet? The usual way to find out is logging into a dashboard, clicking through three screens, and squinting at a table. The MCP way is asking your AI assistant in one sentence and getting the answer in the same chat where you're already working.
This MCP server connects Bing Webmaster Tools — Microsoft's console for how your site appears in Bing search — to Claude and other MCP-capable assistants: Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf. It's a community-built, MIT-licensed open-source project by an independent developer, not a Microsoft product, and on npm the package lives under the scoped name @isiahw1/mcp-server-bing-webmaster.
Once it's wired up, the tools cover the real work of tending a site. List your verified sites. Pull search-query and page-level traffic stats. Check crawl statistics and crawl errors. Submit a URL for indexing, one at a time or in batches, and check your submission quota before you burn it. Submit or remove sitemaps. Look up keyword data and related search terms. Count inbound links. Block URLs you never want crawled. Dozens of tools in all, each one a thing you'd otherwise do by hand in the dashboard.
Setup is developer-flavored but short: generate an API key inside Bing Webmaster Tools (Settings, then API Access), add one configuration entry that runs the package through npx, restart your assistant. After those five minutes you never touch the API again. You just talk.
Who's it for? Anyone who owns a website and does their own search housekeeping — a shop owner curious which queries bring people in, a blogger who wants new posts indexed promptly, a developer automating SEO chores across client sites. Google gets the attention, but Bing's index quietly feeds more of the web's search results than most people assume, and this is the lowest-friction way we've found to tend it.
